"I wanted to write a short note, as well, to let you know some of B's progress.  We moved in May and B has finished several books in the Narnia series, as well as the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings.  He has also read an abridged version of White Fang and several other fun books like National Geographic's Weird but True. He is reading both for school and for pleasure now.  It is a huge change!  He has done a lot of work! He also has grown in his understanding of consequences, which has had some lovely effects on his decisions.

"I am 71. I have had a full life but it wasn’t because I was a good student. Recently, I experienced the Davis Program with Mrs. Graham as my instructor. At the end of one week I cried because I realized there were so many things I could’ve been if I’d had the skills. 

She taught me how to listen, how to understand more clearly, how to visualize concepts, and how to express myself. 

If any child can be given, today, what ignorance denied me, many years ago, that child should have the opportunity I had, even at 71. I am proud of what I’ve learned. The value is not in what it costs. The value is the life that will be enriched, the futures realized and self esteem rewarded. 

I recommend the Davis Program and Mrs. Graham as the instructor for anyone who wants to learn...whether or not they think they can."
